Epic Travel Staffing is hiring a Travel RN – ER

Shift: Days, 7a-7:30p, 12×3, 36hrs per week, EOW

Length: 13 Weeks

Requirements:
  • DC license
  • 2 years of experience preferred
  • BLS
  • ACLS 
  • General Emergency Department skills required

Charting: Meditech (preferred)

RTO Restrictions: UMC wont approve more than 3 consecutive days of RTO at a time and NONE within the first 2 weeks of the assignment. Traveler must commit to working 3×12 hr shifts before and after approved time off.

Special Requirements:
-Busy fast paced environment serving patients of all populations with all types of disease processes. High acuity with quick turnover.
-Main ER (core) comprises of 19 beds and 3 behavioral health beds where we accommodate our FD 12 (homicidal/suicidal patients). Fast track area has 8 rooms for lower acuity.
-Our nursing staff is made up of registered nurses (RN), ED technicians, patient sitters, transporters and peer recovery coaches. 4-5:1 patient/nurse ratio except for code room 1:2
-Our goal is to provide the best care possible to all to bring about a positive healthcare experience.

Emergency room travel nurses are on the hospital front-lines, which is why emergency room travel nurse positions require a candidate who is able to handle a stressful and busy environment. They are responsible for examining patients upon their arrival and carrying out triage tasks to assess their condition. Ability to identify injuries, signs and symptoms, and communicate their assessment to the physician are required for the emergency room nurse. A travel ER nurse assists in patient treatment and explaining prescription information to patient/family among other tasks and must know the facility and government policies as it relates to patient treatment, transfer, and discharge. Educating the patient and their family about continued treatment at home is another task carried out by emergency room nurses before discharge.
