Requirements
- Required certification: CVICU
- 1+ years of experience
- Key Requirements Summary: 1. Experience: Minimum 1 year experience required; Must have CSICU/CVICU experience at level 1 facility 2. Cases: CABGs, valve repair/replacements, aortic surgeries, VADs, total artificial hearts, heart/liver/kidney transplants, thoracic cases/esophagectomy and vascular surgeries 3. Certifications: ACLS, BLS required 4. License: VA or compact state must be in hand at time of submittal 5. Education: BSN preferred 6. EMR: EPIC charting experience required, no exceptions 7. Shifts/Call: Weekend coverage every other weekend; candidates will float within scope if needed 8. RTO: One pre-approved time off; RTO should be included at submission (approved by unit manager on WOC); no time off granted during first week of assignment 9. Returning Staff: Both travelers and permanent staff must be gone for one year before being eligible to return as a traveler 10. Travel/Local: Locals accepted at same base rate; no radius rules for applicants 11. Background: Facility will review all background hits 12. Modules: All candidates assigned modules during orientation on VCU Learning Exchange; average 6 hours non-billable factored in NBO; must be completed by Friday of orientation week 13. Travel Experience: Level I trauma experience and academic facility experience required 14. Scrubs: VCU has a natural nail policy 15. Flu Vaccine Requirements: Unknown 16. Special Equipment: Endotool, NXSTAGE CRRT Critical: Must have required skills including CRRT, IABP, post-op cardio-thoracic surgery recovery, ECMO, invasive hemodynamic monitoring. Two references required. Will consider surgical trauma ICU nurses if they meet level I trauma and academic facility requirements.
