- Key Requirements Summary: 1. Experience: Minimum 1 year required; 1st time travelers accepted if they have 3+ years of experience; 18 months experience required per general policy 2. Cases: Cardiac procedures (LHC, RHC, balloon pumps, temp pacer, perm pacer/defib, pericardial effusion, STEMI call); IR procedures (venous access, drains placement, GI tube insertion, PE, DVTs, Tips, PV, Fistula work, UFEs, prostate embos, GI/Post Partum/other internal bleeds) 3. Certifications: ACLS, BCLS required 4. License: Must be in hand prior to start date; temporary licenses may be obtainable once permanent license applications submitted; IN RN licenses not allowed (except Periop/OR, Allied, Ambulatory travelers) 5. Education: University must be accredited by ACEN or CCNE at time of graduation 6. EMR: Cerner preferred; McKesson documentation system 7. Shifts/Call: 4x10s with block scheduling; minimum 2 days call per week and every 3rd weekend; call may be required on days off 8. RTO: Can auto-approve 5 days of non-holiday RTO; anything more requires facility approval; must work 2 out of 3 major holidays 9. Returning Staff: Any permanent or PRN employee must be away for 12 months before applying as traveler; consecutive contract policy requires designated breaks after 12 months employment 10. Travel/Local: IN residents considered local; surgical services, allied, and IU Clinics accept locals at lower rate; MS, MS Tele, PCU, ICU, ER positions do not accept locals 11. Background: Must note background policy prior to submission to seek approval prior to offer 12. Modules: Not specified 13. Travel Experience: Break requirements - out-of-state residents need 3 month break, in-state residents need 6 month break to reset eligibility 14. Scrubs: Scrub experience required 15. Flu Vaccine Requirements: Required - medical/religious exemptions only 16. Special Equipment: McKesson-Hemo, balloon pumps, Angio Jet, CSI diamondback, Penumbra, Inari, Roto pro, Jet stream-BSCI, C-arms (Philips/Siemens), ACIST, MEDRad power injector, temp pacer-Medtronic, IVUS, Abbott-OCT Critical: Conscious sedation required; circulate skills needed; floating 100% required; 2 supervisor references required; 40 orientation hours; daily census 5-7 patients.
