A healthcare facility in New York, NY is seeking a Certified Medical Dosimetrist to join its radiation oncology team.
Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in physics or related fields required; or graduation from an approved Medical Dosimetry Program through the American Association of Medical Dosimetrists (AAMD). Certification by the Medical Dosimetry Certification Board (MDCB). Five years of recent experience as a Dosimetrist in a Clinical Radiation Therapy Department, or equivalent applicable work experience, is required. A minimum of two years of experience as a senior or lead dosimetrist in a proton radiation therapy department is required. A minimum of five years of proton planning experience is required. Strong oral and written communication skills. Ability to work flexible hours as needed. Ability to manage time and prioritize workflow. Knowledge of Electronic Medical Records and TPS, such as Aria and Eclipse, is preferred.

- Good team working abilities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Knowledgeable in the areas of radiation physics, and radiation safety
- High level critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Works independently, but in collaboration with Radiation Oncologists and Medical Physicists
- Has working knowledge of radiation safety principles and practices
- Has the ability to interpret criteria and develop treatment plans as defined by protocols
- Expertise in the technical aspects of radiation oncology and medical physics to develop optimal treatment plans
- A minimum of two years of experience as a senior or lead dosimetrist in a proton radiation therapy department is required.
Estimated Pay
The pay range for this position is $185000.00 – $215000.00.
We provide a competitive range of compensation for this position. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including, but not limited to, skill set, level of experience and specific office location. It is possible that this position can be hired outside of the salary range based on experience.
