Shift: Days, 6:45a-7:15p, 12hrs per weeks
Length: 13 weeks

Requirements:

  • PA  License
  • 2 years of NICU III experience
  • BLS
  • NRP
  • Epic Experience

  • Patient Ratio: 1:3
  • Unit accepts 1st time travelers with experience

Requirements:
2 years of NICU III experience
Current BLS, NRP
Epic Experience
2 clinical references, at least 1 leadership reference from assignments within the last year
Separation Period: 1 Year

Insulin administration
Colostomy/ileostomy management/care
Gastroschisis/Omphalocele
Post Abdominal Surgery
Arterial line management
Central line blood draw
Central Line/Implanted Line Care
UAC (Umbilical Artery Catheter)
UVC (Umbilical Vein Catheter)
Surfactants
Assist with lumbar puncture
Therapeutic hypothermia (cooling blanket)
Tracheostomy care/management
Ventilator management (AC/PC/SIMV/CPAP/BIPAP/PEEP)

Required Skills:
Neonates 29-34 weeks
Neonates > 34 weeks
Telemetry - on the unit monitoring
Blood glucose monitoring
Hyperbilirubinemia
Phototherapy
Breastfeeding Support/Handling of Breast Milk
Feedings (bottle, breast, gavage)
Necrotizing Enterocolitis (NEC)
Placement/Management of oral/nasogastric/nasojejunal tubes
Isolation Precautions/PPE
Neonatal Sepsis
Sepsis Work Up
Administration of blood & blood products
Starting and maintaining IVs
Antibiotics/Antivirals
Anti-Seizure Medications
IV vasopressors
Neonatal Dosage Calculations
Steroids
Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome
APGAR scoring
Developmental Care
Patient/family teaching
Phlebotomy
Thermoregulation

Orientation:
1 Day of Orientation scheduled based on availability

Candidates expected to complete compliance items in a timely manner. No pushes in start date will be honored
