Travel Nurse (RN) RNFA (First Assist) Bakersfield, CA

Epic Travel Staffing is hiring a Travel RN - RNFA

Shift: Days, 6:30a-5p, 10x4, 40hrs per week

Duration: 18 weeks

On-call required (end of shift to 11pm at least 1 day a week, and at least 1 continuous weekend Friday-Monday 6:30am per 6-week period)

Requirements:

CA License
2 years of perioperative nursing experience preferred
Completion of an RNFA program that meets AORN standards
BLS
ACLS (AHA-ACLS or ARC-ALS)
CNOR
CRNFA preferred
PALS/PEARS preferred
AORN membership preferred

Other Details:

Skills: circulating and scrubbing duties; tissue handling and dissection; clamping/coagulating/ligating vessels; suturing muscle, fascia, subcutaneous, and skin tissue; placing drains; assisting with cannulation/decannulation; patient transfer, positioning, prepping, and draping; aseptic technique
Special procedures: Davinci Procedure, MIS lumbar cases, Open Heart cases
Equipment used: Hannah table, O-Arm, Medtronic Stealth, Jackson Table, Mako System
Floating required to other AH surgery areas as needed (AHDL, AHTV, OPSC, AHSB)
240-bed hospital, 8 ORs; EMR: Cerner (Surginet), transitioning to Epic; Medication system: Pyxis
Scrubs provided; staff must change into surgical scrubs in the unit and change out to street clothes when leaving the building
