Epic Travel Staffing is hiring a Travel RN - OR Circulator
Shift: Days, 7a-7p, 12x3, 36hrs per week On call required on a regular scheduled rotation
Duration: 13 weeks
Requirements:
- OR License
- 3 years of experience required
- BLS (American Heart Association) required
- ACLS (American Heart Association) required
- PALS (American Heart Association) required
- TNCC required
- Associate of Science in Nursing required
- Bachelor's degree in nursing preferred
- CNOR preferred
- Peri-op 101 preferred
- Previous RN circulator experience preferred
- Scrub experience preferred
- CRASE training preferred (required if travel assignment extends beyond a 6-month period)
Other Details:
- Perioperative nursing practice during the intraoperative surgical experience; responsible for safe, effective, quality patient-family centered care in the operating room and other perioperative service areas for all patient populations
- Acts as patient advocate and is responsible for direction and supervision of personnel assigned
- Protect the patient from injury caused by extraneous objects and chemical, electrical, laser, mechanical, and thermal sources
- Perform accounting procedures to protect the patient from unintended retained surgical items
- Ensure procedures are performed on the correct site, side, and level
- Manage patient specimens per organizational policy; administer medications safely and correctly
- Perform interventions to maintain wound/tissue perfusion and the status of genitourinary, gastrointestinal, musculoskeletal, endocrine, respiratory, cardiovascular, and neurological systems and fluid/electrolyte/acid-base balances at or above baseline
- Perform interventions to protect the patient from surgical site infection; protect patient rights, dignity, and privacy
- Provide age-specific, culturally competent, ethical care within legal standards of practice
- Document nursing care accurately and collaborate effectively across disciplines; use problem-solving and conflict resolution skills
- Maintain required competencies and pursue professional growth
- Float requirement: agency nurses will be floated to other departments where qualified to perform patient care before core staff is floated
- Ability to perform a variety of duties, changing from one task to another without loss of efficiency or composure
- Convey empathy and compassion; communicate effectively and therapeutically with people from every socioeconomic background
