Epic Travel Staffing is hiring an Interim - Director of Quality Management/ICP
Shift: Non-exempt, Variable, days or nights, Mon-Fri, varying times, 40hrs per week, Admin on-call rotation required
Duration: 13 weeks
Requirements:
- IN RN or multi-state/Compact RN License
- 2 years recent Director of Quality Management & Infection Control experience, hospital preferred LTAC setting
- Experience with Regulatory Surveys (TJC, CMS validation surveys, State licensing surveys)
- Experience with physician relations such as OPPE/FPPE and peer review process
- Microsoft Office and Excel experience
- Certified Professional Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) certification preferred
- Degree in a healthcare related field; degree in nursing preferred
Other Details:
- Responsible for planning and implementing the performance improvement program to meet the needs of the hospital
- Provides education to medical staff, hospital staff, and Governing Body; acts as resource person to administrative team, department managers, and medical staff
- Facilitates performance improvement and CQI activities throughout the hospital
- Performs clinical risk management functions and assists department managers with preparation for medical staff committees
- Oversight responsibility for all regulatory body surveys (JCAHO, State Licensing Review, HCFA/CMS validation surveys)
- Implements an effective hospital-wide infection control program in keeping with CDC, JCAHO, and other regulatory agencies
- Implements a surveillance system for detecting and monitoring hospital-acquired and community infections; investigates outbreaks or clusters of infections
- Monitors, analyzes, and interprets bacteriology reports and infection statistics; recommends control measures to prevent dissemination of resistant microorganisms and pathogens
- Consults with physicians, managers, and staff for management of infectious and/or immunosuppressed patients; participates in Infection Control Committees
- Collaborates with local and state health departments in the prevention, control, and reporting of communicable diseases
- Manages employee health initiatives (employee health files, TB screenings/chest x-rays, vaccines, Hepatitis B program)
- Enters incident/claim information into the Event Reporting System (ERS)
- Uses database systems to document occurrences, medical staff review functions, and committee review and actions
