Epic Travel Staffing is hiring a PRN - ER

Shift:  Nights / 7p-7:30a, 12x1, 12hrs per week
Length: 13 weeks

Requirements:

  • Active NJ or Compact license
  • 1 year of acute care ED experience
  • Teaching hospital experience
  • Adult & Peds experience, STEMI Certified Facility; Stroke Certified Facility; Isolation Precautions/PPE; Triage
  • ACLS, BLS, PALS, ITTC- De-escalation Training 
  • Charting: EPIC experience required

  • Unit Details: Patient Age Groups: Neonates, Adolescents, Infants, Adults, Pediatrics, Geriatrics. This is a General Adult and Pediatric ED
  • Scrub Color: Navy Blue

• Shift: 7p-7:30a

• Scheduling & Commitment: Clinicians must be fully committed to working a minimum of (4) shifts per month. Must be dedicated to getting into the lab and completing compliance asap

• Cancellation Policy: Three (3) last-minute shift cancellations, defined as cancellations within 24–48 hours of the scheduled shift will lead to facility review and may result in a final warning

SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS

• MUST BE ABLE TO START ON 6/15/26

• Clinicians may work at only one RWJBH site and must be submitted exclusively to the site where they are fully committed to work; once submitted and approved, a site-specific requisition ID will be assigned, and location changes will not be permitted thereafter.

• (2) Clinical Leadership references from assignments within the last 2 years (Charge nurse not accepted).

SEPARATION RULES

• Prior RWJBH staff must be separated for a minimum of (6) months.

YEARS OF EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

• 1 year of acute care ED experience; Teaching hospital experience

REQUIRED LICENSE AND CERTIFICATIONS

• Active NJ or Compact license is required at time of submission

• Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, ITTC- De-escalation Training (Refer to submittal instructions)

• Pediatrics: Abdominal pain; Asthma; Burns; Epiglottitis; Head injury; Hyperglycemia; Identify/Report neglect or abuse; Infection; Mental/behavioral health conditions; Near drowning; Poison ingestion; Respiratory infection; Seizures; Sickle cell crisis; Skin Disorders; Spinal cord injury; Urinary Tract Infection

• Behavioral Health: Acute psychosis; Drug overdose; Managing violent behavior; Psychiatric Hold; Suicidal patient

• Respiratory/Cardiac: BiPAP/CPAP management/maintenance; Care of Ventilated Patient; Chest tube insertion/management; Interpretation of Arterial Blood Gases (ABGs); Intubation; Interpretation/Management of dysrhythmias; Management of patient with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure; Obtain 12 lead EKG/ECG

• Blood Product Administration; Central line care/management; Phlebotomy; Starting and maintaining IVs; Continuous IV paralytics; Continuous IV sedation; Emergency Medications; IV vasopressors; Procedural Sedation Administration/Monitoring

• Neuro/Ortho: CVA (Cerebrovascular Accident); Hypothermia protocol/Arctic Sun; Neuro-Trauma; Traumatic Brain injury; Gunshot wounds; Traumatic amputation; Manage / apply splints; Ortho trauma

• Floating: Candidates must float within their skillset without exception. Ratios vary based on census, patient acuity and staffing.
