Happy Halloween from Team Emerald!

You could say we go all out for Halloween. In fact, you could say it’s one of our favorite holidays of the year. Our company is steeped in fun traditions, including a full schedule of celebrations on the spookiest day of the year.

First, all of our in-office teams are tasked with picking a theme and transforming their department into a different world. This goes beyond putting a jack o’ lantern on your desk and calling it a day. We’re talking fog machines, sound effects, streamers and costumes galore. This is all actually done the month leading up to Halloween.

We then invite a few employees from other companies in our building to come and judge each department’s theme. Points are scored on creativity, originality and other varied categories.  Once the judges have wrapped up, the competing teams can walk through the other departments and see what they came up with.

After that it’s time for a catered lunch and dessert potluck! This year we had a taco bar. Yum!

We take some time to respond to emails, make some calls and generally keep on top of our work but after that it’s time for the Halloween Awards Ceremony.

Here individual employees win awards for costumes and the winning team from the department contest gets their name engraved on the Emerald Halloween Cup! Congratulations to this year’s winners: The Recruiting Team! 

After all the accolades have been given, the entire office is treated to happy hour at one of our favorite bars down the street.

All in all, a solid way to celebrate Halloween! Truly an #OnlyAtEmerald way of doing things 🙂
