Job Description
Epic Travel Staffing is hiring a Travel RN – MS/Tele – Inpatient Surgical – 3rd floor 48’s

Shift: Nights/ 7p-7a, 12×4, 48hrs/week, EOW
Length: 13 Weeks

Holiday Requirements In the holiday rotation with core staff

Requirements: 
  • IL license
  • 1 year of experience- surgical experience required
  • Must have total joint experience
  • Understanding of PCA pumps, reversal drugs (narcan), sepsis management
  • Experience with TPN/ Lipids
  • BLS, NIHSS
Other Details:
  • Accepts local
  • Charting System: Allscripts – Sunrise
  • Float to like units only. If floated to higher acuity it would be to work as a help all and not take a patient load.
  • # Beds 48 (two buildings)
  • Nurse:Patient Ratios 1:4-6 Nights 1:5-6 LPNs available, virtual admission and discharge nurses to assist as well. Primary care nursing model is frequently used. Must be okay with this
  • Common diagnosis / Types of patients Neuro- laminectomy, cervical fusion, LESI, belly surgery-ostomies, hernia repair, joint replacement-total hips/knees. PICC, TPN, Lipids. Fem pop bypass, dialysis catheter insertions, BKA, AKA. DM (dialysis is also located on the 3rd floor) PCA, some epidurals, iv abx, chronic pain (narcotics), sepsis, urgent OR cases
