Job Description

Epic Travel Staffing is hiring a Travel RN – PCU – Advanced Heart Care Unit A5E 48’s

Shift: Days / 7a-7:30p, 12×4, 48 hrs per week, will also consider 36 hrs

Length: 13 weeks

Call-Ins: If a traveler call-ins for a contracted shift, the traveler is expected to 1) make up the day during the pay period, if a 0.9 FTE. OR 2) if a 0.9 FTE and unable to make up during the pay period, then the shift will be added at the end of the traveler contract 3) If a 1.2 FTE, any call-in shifts will be added to the end of the contract

Requirements:

  • IN license
  • 2 years nursing experience
  • Skillset Requirements: Cardiac PCU, Drips, Post Cath Lab, IV Starts, and Sheath Pulls
  • BLS
  • ACLS preferred
  • Skillset Preferences: Conscious Sedation and Telemetry

Other Details:

  • First Time Travelers Accepted
  • Travelers may be expected to float to different levels of care (Med-Surg, PCU, ICU) with resources provided if needed
  • COVID-19 Vaccine (Facility Guideline):Not Required
  • Flu Vaccine (Facility Guideline): Required – Medical/Religious Exemptions Only
Travelers with permanent residence in Indiana
MUST BE FLEXIBLE WITH WEEKEND REQUIREMENTS, WEEKEND REQUIREMENT WILL BE BASED ON UNIT NEEDS. TRAVELERS MUST BE ABLE TO WORK 50% OF THE WEEKENDS IN THEIR CONTRACT.
Teaching facilities and require all travel nurses to agree to the possibility of precepting and/or being assigned students to shadow them while on assignment. Please only submit candidates that are okay with these requirements.

Certification Requirements: BCLS; ACLS Preferred
Skillset Requirements: Cardiac PCU, Drips, Post Cath Lab, IV Starts, and Sheath Pulls
Skillset Preferences: Conscious Sedation and Telemetry, 2 years of nursing experience required.

Floating Requirements: Unit travelers may be expected to float to different levels of care (Med-Surg, PCU, ICU) with resources provided if needed 
Staffing Ratios: 1:4

Unit Information: Progressive care unit that focuses on the close monitoring of patients with cardiovascular diagnoses including, congestive heart failure, post- myocardial infarction, pulmonary hypertension, cardiac arrhythmias, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, congenital heart defects, and infective endocarditis along with a multitude of other co-morbidities.. We care for patient post-cath lab procedures, prior to LVAD placements or heart/lung transplants and pre- valve replace
