Job Description
Epic Travel Staffing is hiring a Travel RN – MedSurg – B5/C5 48’s

Shift: Days / 7a-7:30p, 12×4, 48 hrs per week, will consider 36’s, must be flexible with weekend requirements

Length: 13 weeks

Must be able to work 50% of the weekends in their contract

Call-Ins: If a traveler call-ins for a contracted shift, the traveler is expected to 1) make up the day during the pay period, if a 0.9 FTE. OR 2) if a 0.9 FTE and unable to make up during the pay period, then the shift will be added at the end of the traveler contract 3) If a 1.2 FTE, any call-in shifts will be added to the end of the contract

Requirements:
  • IN license
  • Minimum 2 years experience
  • MedSurg experience
  • Skillset Requirements: Staring IVs, Previous Travel Experience, and Level 1 Trauma Experience
  • BLS

  • Floating Requirements: Unit travelers may be expected to float to different levels of care (Med-Surg, PCU, ICU) with resources provided if needed
  • COVID-19 Vaccine (Facility Guideline): Not Required
  • Flu Vaccine (Facility Guideline): Required – Medical/Religious Exemptions Only
Local – ICU, PCU and M/S Peds and Adult RNs residing in the state of Indiana are considered local and will be accepted
MUST BE FLEXIBLE WITH WEEKEND REQUIREMENTS, WEEKEND REQUIREMENT WILL BE BASED ON UNIT NEEDS. TRAVELERS MUST BE ABLE TO WORK 50% OF THE WEEKENDS IN THEIR CONTRACT.
Teaching facilities and require all travel nurses to agree to the possibility of precepting and/or being assigned students to shadow them while on assignment. Please only submit candidates that are okay with these requirements.

*** Charge coverage: Pending operational needs, unit charge nurse responsibilities may be needed with provided training and resources.
Certification Requirements: BCLS
Skillset Requirements: Minimum 2 Year Experience, MedSurg Experience, Staring IVs, Previous Travel Experience, and Level 1 Trauma Experience
Floating Requirements: Unit travelers may be expected to float to different levels of care (Med-Surg, PCU, ICU) with resources provided if needed 
Staffing Ratios: 1:5-6
Unit Information: Complex Medical patients – Most with Renal disease and Diabetes as a primary or secondary diagnosis. We also have a 5 bed area dedicated to End of Life/Comfort Care. Traveler will not be required to work in this area.
– Our unit provides all CAPD treatments throughout Methodist Hospital. Traveler will not be required to complete these.
