Epic Travel Staffing is hiring a Travel RN – ICU

Shift: Nights / 6:45p-7:15a, 12×3, 36hrs per week

Length: 13 Weeks

Requirements:
  • GA License
  • 1 year ICU experience
  •  Experience in teaching hospital, community hospital, LTAC, and/or Trauma Level I facility a plus
  • Trauma Level II facility experience
  • CHEMO Cert
  • BSN 
  • AHA ACLS
  • AHA BLS
  • NIH, OCN, TNCC preferred 
  • Previous Charge experience preferred 
  • Electronic Documentation preferred 
  • Teaching Hospital experience preferred 
  • Community Hospital experience preferred 
  • LTAC experience preferred 
  • Trauma Level I experience preferred
ICU RN for oncology ICU floor that also houses MICU. This is a surgical unit focused on thoracic surgeries, skin flaps, chest tube management, and esophagectomies. Use of Tablo for dialysis patients. Provider support includes pharmacy, radiology, rapid response teams, respiratory services, social services, and unit secretary. Provider coverage includes Intensivist, NP, CRNA, Anesthesiologist and Hospitalist. Pyxis medication system, EPIC documentation, and SBAR communication utilized. Black scrubs, not provided. 12 hours orientation on floor. 1st time traveler OK.

1 year ICU experience REQUIRED. ICU ratio of 1:2. 12-hour shifts with weekends as-needed. Manager sets schedule. Avg. daily census: 12. 21 rooms, 25 beds. Float within areas of competency possible (MICU, ratio of 1:4). Trauma Level II facility experience REQUIRED. Experience in teaching hospital, community hospital, LTAC, and/or Trauma Level I facility a plus.

Certifications REQUIRED: ACLS, BLS (AHA only, no HeartCode), CHEMO Cert
Certifications preferred: NIH, OCN, TNCC

Skills/Experience REQUIRED: Interpretation and Management of Dysrhythmias; Multi-system Organ Failure; Chronic/Acute Renal Failure; CVVHD/CRRT; Accessing Ports; Blood Product Administration; Central Line Care/Management; PICC Line Management; Starting IVs; Continuous IV Sedation; Emergency Medications; Titrate Cardiac Drips; Titrate Vasoactive Drips; Chemotherapy Administration; Assist with Chest Tube Insertion/Removal; Care of Ventilated Patient; HFNC; Interpretation of ABGs; Suctioning (ETT, NT); Ventilator Management; Infection Prevention; Isolation Precautions/Use of PPE; Phlebotomy; Surgical Wounds with Drains/Wound Vac

Intensive care unit travel nurse jobs, otherwise known as critical care unit (CCU) travel nurse jobs, specialize in providing care to the most acutely ill patients in the hospital. An ICU travel nurse might work in ICU burn unit, abdominal transplant acute care, neuro ICU, post-op, surgical ICU (SICU), trauma ICU or cardiovascular ICU (CVICU). Critical care nurses may also care for age-specific patients in the pediatric ICU (PICU) or neonatal ICU (NICU).
