- Key Requirements Summary: 1. Experience: 1 year required 2. Cases: Med-Surg experience required; patients with co-occurring medical and behavioral health conditions 3. Certifications: BLS required 4. License: South Carolina or Multi-State/Compact State RN License required; SC license holders prioritized 5. Education: Not specified 6. EMR: Epic experience required 7. Shifts/Call: 3x12s, 7P-7:30A with holiday rotation; every other weekend required; no call required 8. RTO: Must be submitted at time of application; RTO after submission not accepted; 7 days or less non-holiday RTO for auto offers 9. Returning Staff: Previous permanent staff must be separated from MUSC system for 1 year before returning as traveler 10. Travel/Local: 60-mile radius; locals considered at lower bill rate on case-by-case basis; non-locals prioritized 11. Background: Not specified 12. Modules: Average 4 hours, non-billable, included in NBO hours, completed pre-start 13. Travel Experience: First-time travelers accepted 14. Scrubs: Solid Royal Blue or White top with Royal blue bottoms required 15. Flu Vaccine Requirements: Required with medical/religious exemptions only 16. Special Equipment: Various including chest tubes, PCA, PICC line management, telemetry monitoring Critical: Patient ratios 1:3 on med-surg side, 1:4 on behavioral health side. All labs must be completed within 72 hours of signing. Hurricane season emergency response team assignment possible June-November. Charge experience preferred. 12-hour orientation provided.
