Travel Nurse (RN) ER (Emergency Room) Henrico, VA

$1,887.00 to $2,137.00 weekly

Epic Travel Staffing is hiring a Travel RN – ER – Freestanding

Shift: Nights / 7p-7a, 12×3, 36 hrs per week
Length: 13 weeks

No Call, required to work every other weekend and every other major holiday

Requirements:

• VA License
• 1 year of RN experience
• Previous travel experience required
• Critical care / Conscious sedation experience required
• MUST pass EKG Exam at Orientation
• BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, NRP, CPI/De-escalation training required
• Prefers 2-year of ER experience or 1-year in freestanding ED
• TNCC Trauma Nursing Core Course preferred
• Bachelor of Science Nursing preferred
• Recent Emergency Department or Critical Care experience preferred
• EPIC Electronic Health Record (EHR) training preferred

Other Details:

• NO LOCAL CANDIDATES (no candidates within 50-mile radius)
• Freestanding Community Emergency Department 
• 2 triage rooms, 12 patient rooms, 3 vertical treatment chairs, 2 FastTrack rooms
• Skill Sets: RNs are required to know how to initiate, maintain, and troubleshoot the ventilator, will train onsite with vent educator. Compounding of our own medications since department does not have pharmacy on site
• Equipment:  Knowledge of how to use our Zoll defibrillators, experience with Stroke, STEMI, and Sepsis patients, team triage
• Patient Population: Abdominal pain, chest pain, falls, GI symptoms, fever/sepsis, stroke-like symptoms, and behavior health/mental health. Usually 60+ years of age, but an increase of pediatric patients. Occasional trauma to stabilize and transport to appropriate facility.
• Support Staff: Physician on 24/7 with an ACP scheduled from 12noon-8p every day. Paramedics and ED Tech to provide additional support, although paramedics function as an ED Technician in department.
• Scrubs: Navy blue, white, or any combination of the two colors.
• Ratio*: 1:4
