Epic Travel Staffing is hiring a Travel – Inpatient Medical Social Worker

Shift: Days / 8a-4:30p, 8×5, 40 hrs per week, every 3rd weekend

Length: 13 weeks

Call required: Yes, Sundays

Requirements:

  • AK License
  • 2 years experience
  • Must have strong skills and exp in an acute care facility
  • Must have strong problem solving skills
  • BLS
  • BSW
  • CPI preferred
  • LCSW preferred
  • Will consider candidate who has less than 2 years acute care, but needs LTAC or Clinic with at least 1 year acute care

Other Details:

  • 1st timers consider if traveler has 2 yrs or more work experience
  • Float required: through entire facility
  • Cerner EMR

PATIENT DIAGNOSES
– Versatile position serving Adults and Peds, ED, Inpt, CCU, Mother Baby and Behavioral Health.
– Large Alaska Native and Indigenous population
– Homeless
– Substance abuse
– Overflow from surrounding hospitals

SPECIAL PROCEDURES
– Consult based – ___# of consults routinely
– Social workers work closely with RN Case Managers
– Prior experience with:
IHS facility (IHS – Indian Health Services)
PRC
Office of Children Service

SPECIAL EQUIPMENT
– 8’s and 10’s, dayshift
– Would like candidate to be flexible with weekend coverage if shifts are needed. This will be discussed by manager with candidate in interview.

CERTIFICATIONS
– BLS
– BSW
– CPI (PREFERRED)
– LCSW (PREFERRED)

ORIENTATION? YES – 48 HOURS

Guaranteed Hours
8 Rule: 40.00 hours per 1 week
10 Rule: 40.00 hours per 1 week
12 Rule: 36.00 hours per 1 week
Comments: All OR nurses and OR Techs on 12 hour shifts are scheduled for an additional 4 hours to help cover breaks and lunches. 12 hour OR nurses and OR Techs will be guaranteed 40 hours per week.
