- Key Requirements Summary: 1. Experience: 1 year required 2. Cases: Cardiac and stroke patients 3. Certifications: BLS required; NIHSS; mandatory competency with phlebotomy and IV placement 4. License: NY license required in hand to submit 5. Education: Foreign education must be verified at time of submittal 6. EMR: Epic experience is a hard requirement 7. Shifts/Call: No on-call required; EOW weekends; float required to MS, ICU, ED 8. RTO: No holiday RTO; no more than 7 days; cannot submit anyone with more than 10 days RTO 9. Returning Staff: 1 year policy 10. Travel/Local: Candidates within 75 miles not accepted 11. Background: Reviewed on case-by-case basis 12. Modules: Pre-start modules billable up to 5 hours; total may reach 10 hours with excess non-billable; recorded via facility report 13. Travel Experience: First-timers accepted 14. Scrubs: Any combo of navy and white 15. Flu Vaccine Requirements: Unknown 16. Special Equipment: Hoyer lifts Critical: Patient ratios Day/Eve 5:1 (stretch 6-7), Night 6-7:1 (stretch 8-10). Required skills include interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, rapid response teams, peripheral line care, oxygen administration, non-invasive airway management, isolation precautions. 4 hours orientation. 20-bed unit serving adults and geriatrics.
