- Key Requirements Summary: 1. Experience: 1 year required 2. Cases: MS/Tele, cardiac unit patients 3. Certifications: BLS required, NIHSS; mandatory competency with phlebotomy and IV placement 4. License: NY license required in hand to submit 5. Education: Foreign education must be verified if applicable 6. EMR: Epic experience is a hard requirement 7. Shifts/Call: Day/Eve ratios 5:1 (stretch 6-7), Night ratios 6-7:1 (stretch 8-10); no on-call required 8. RTO: Cannot submit anyone with more than 10 days RTO; will not allow more than 1 week RTO in contract 9. Returning Staff: 1 year return staff policy 10. Travel/Local: Candidates within 75 miles not accepted (no locals) 11. Background: Reviewed on case-by-case basis 12. Modules: Pre-start modules billable up to 5 hours; total may reach 10 hours; excess of 5 hours non-billable; recorded via facility report 13. Travel Experience: Not specified as required; first-timers accepted 14. Scrubs: Any combo of navy and white 15. Flu Vaccine Requirements: Unknown 16. Special Equipment: Nasal cannula, oxygen face masks, portable oxygen tank, non-invasive airway management equipment Critical: Must float within scope between like units. Weekend requirement every other weekend. Skills include interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, rapid response team use, peripheral line care, isolation precautions. 16 orientation hours. Patient age groups: adults and geriatrics.
