Job Description
Epic Travel Staffing is hiring a Travel RN – Med/Surg – 3S Ortho Trauma/General Surgery 48’s

Shift: Nights / 6:45p-7:15a, 12×4, 48 hrs per week, will consider 36’s, EOW
Length: 13 weeks (up to March 15, 2025 (hard stop))

Must be able to work 2 of 3 major holidays

Requirements:
  • NC License
  • Minimum 2 years of experience required in last 5 years
  • Must be able to take heparin drips
  • Skills: PCA. Colostomy Care, Feeding tube care and management. Blood product Administration, Central line care/management, Peripheral line care/management, phlebotomy. PICC line management, IV starts, *Active RN license required. Management of dysrhythmias, O2 Protocol Management, Non-invasive airway management, Peripheral line care/management, Isolation Precautions/PPE, Traumatic Brain injury, ortho trauma, surgucal drains, chest tubes- Emerson/Pleuravac, Nasal Cannula, Oral Suctioning, Tracheostomy Management, Wound care
  • BLS
  • ACLS preferred
  • Interpretation of dysrhythmias, Pre/Post Hemodialysis Management, Management of drips, CVA, Pre/Post Neuro Surgery, Spinal cord injuries preferred
  • Epic documentation experience

JOB DETAILS:
Target Ratios: 1:6-7 (Must be comfortable with these ratios)
Shift: 12HR NIGHT. 36 or 48 hours accepted.
Contract Length: Unit will accept contracts from 13 weeks+ up to March 15, 2025 (hard stop) to get the unit through the holidays!!

**Contract staff will be assigned and expected to work a Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team. Contract staff may be required to report to work during a catastrophic event, mass casualty or disaster. Consolidation to the Centralized Office mid contract may occur and the contract staff may be preassigned to units as needed.

RTO: 7 days MAX
Float Requirement: Floating to similar units and alternate care locations with inpatients holding
Weekend Requirement: Traveler will be assigned to every other weekend
Holiday Requirement: Must be able to work 2 of 3 major holidays.

PATIENT DIAGNOSES:
Severe injury to the bones, joints, and/or soft tissue. Traumatic brain injuries. Spine injuries, pain. Neurological trauma/nerve damage (small population). Subdural hematoma.

UNIT SYSTEMS (Medication, Documentation, Communication):
Pyxis, EPIC, SBAR

UNIT ORIENTATION:
12 hour unit orientation. 16 hour organizational education.

SCRUBS:
Navy
