Job Description
Epic Travel Staffing is hiring a Travel RN – PICU

Shift: Rotating D/N 7a-3:30p, 7a-7:30p, 7p-7:30a, 11p-7:30a, 8’s/12’s, 36hrs per week, Monday-Friday and every other weekend
Length: 13 weeks

On-call Optional: Call response time of 45 minutes; 45 minutes from phone call

Requirements:
  • WI License
  • Must have at least 2 years of true Pediatric ICU (PICU) experience
  • Traveler must have completed 2 years of acute care experience within last 3 years
  • Traveler must have Basic Arrhythmia experience
  • BLS AHA
  • PALS  AHA
  • Trach experience is preferred
  • Baccalaureate degree in nursing preferred
Other Details:
  • Traveler’s permanent address must be 50 miles from assigned primary work site location
  • Floating – Travelers are the first. The Traveler may have shifts scheduled in multiple units, depending on the current staffing needs and/or different locations within the organization. During the traveler’s assignment, if the primary unit no longer has a need, shifts will be re-assigned to another unit in order to complete contract.
  • Must be willing to work in the Peds ICU, IMC and GC units
We are seeking a Registered Nurse to:
• To support all units within the American Family Children’s Hospital to cover sick leaves, unit acuity changes and leave of absences.
• Provide care to neonates, infants, children, adolescents and families, coping with complex medical diagnosis and disease processes.
• Utilize a wide range of nursing and critical thinking skills to support the patients and families at American Family Children’s Hospital.

Shift: 36 hrs/week, Day/Night, variable 8/12 hour shifts, 0700-1530, 0700-1930, 1900-0730, 2300-0730, Monday-Friday and every other weekend. Flexibility is required per operational needs of department.

Minimum Requirements:

Experience:
• Must have at least 2 years of true Pediatric ICU (PICU) experience. PICU float experience does not count.
• Must be willing to work in the Peds ICU, IMC and GC units.
• Trach experience is preferred.
• Traveler must have completed two years of acute care experience within last 3 years.

Licensure and Certification:
• Traveler must have Wisconsin Registered Nurse license or compact license from their permanent address state.
• BLS – must be certified through American Heart Association ONLY
• PALS – must be certified through American Heart Association

Education:
• Baccalaureate degree in nursing preferred.

Telemetry
• Traveler must have Basic Arrhythmia experience. Traveler will be required to pass Telemetry test prior to being cleared to start (not for clinic positions).
